Bank Alfalah, Virtual University Does Strategic Partnership To Bridge Gaps Between Industry And Academia

On the road to fulfill its commitment for bridging gaps between technology and academia, Pakistan’s leading bank, Bank Alfalah has strategically partnered with Pakistan’s premier ICT-based distance learning institution, Virtual University of Pakistan to build a framework of learning between the two institutions.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Ahmed Nauman Anees, Head Learning and Development Division (L&DD), Bank Alfalah Limited and Registrar Virtual University, Prof. Dr. Syed Abdul Majid. The two institutions plan to enthusiastically struggle to make a conducive environment for enhanced learning by exchange of faculty, knowledge, and know-how to allow a shared growth and progress of both sectors.

Per the agreement, VU will spread professional knowhow towards designing, developing, and educating a Learning Management System (LMS) for Bank Alfalah employees, in addition easing Bank Alfalah in leading recruitment tests by their country-wide campuses. Virtual University may also give technical skill to make question bank, assessment mechanism, and online portal.

The contract also gives for exchange faculty where experts with applicable domain information will be asked for guest lectures in the degree and programs of executive of Virtual University as market experts. Likewise, Virtual University faculty members will keep applicable training sessions achieved by BAFL Learning & Development Division to its management and staff.

Bank Alfalah will also be able to take advantage of on VU’s Satellite Airtime for spreading learning activities to its employees during the geographical regions where BAFL operates. In correspondence, BAFL may invite VU in designing and offering modified and in-house executive development programs for BAFL’s employees. VU, with L&DD’s assistance, may grow computer based simulations and collaborating training contents.

To inspire and encourage students to perform better, Bank Alfalah may know top students by awarding them medals upon graduation besides allowing them to be part of BAFL’s Project Internship Program. BAFL will also deliver opportunities to students to do experiential learning projects.
