Fintech: Trends and Future in Pakistan

TECH Pakistan in collaboration with 17th ITCN Asia 2017 organizes a conference called “Fintech: Trends & Future in Pakistan” a one of its kind panel discussion that aim to embark a conversation over aligning finance sector with technology that could benefit a larger audience as whole.
TECH Pakistan believes in setting benchmarks; to not only become a symbol of trust but act as a pipeline for better and constructive initiatives to come. “Fintech: Trends & Future in Pakistan” is one of such conference that brings Pakistan largest gathering of people who wants to see Fintech prospering in our communities. We will bring the industrial veterans from across the country at one place to embark a conversation over existing opportunities and future possibilities in Fintech scene of Pakistan. We will be engaging leading banks and financial institution to participate in the conversation.
TECH Pakistan is a technology association that aims to become Pakistan’ largest with a mission to add value and fill the gaps in industry of Information Technology of country. TECH Pakistan is determined to unite all kinds of technology scenes happening in the country in order to explore existing opportunities and new possibilities ultimately strengthening the industry as whole. Arshad Ashraf – Founder & Chairman – Tilism Technologies Pvt. Ltd. & Head of GCC Equities – Saudi Aramco Mr. Arshad also stands as Founder and Chief Investment Officer at One Market Capital. Mr. Ashraf has been the Head of the Middle East and North Africa Investment Team and Portfolio Manager at Passport Capital LLC. Before joining Passport Capital, he has held various positions in engineering services, management consulting, technology start-ups and private equity. He served as a Director of SHUAA Capital psc. In 2001, he was the winner of the McKinsey National Business Plan Competition and voted as one of the Top 10 Entrepreneurs in Malaysia by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). Mr. Ashraf is a Sloan Fellow with an MS in Management from The Leland Stanford Junior University and holds a BS in Manufacturing Engineering and a BA in Religion from Boston University.
Qasif Shahid – Co Founder & CEO – FinJa & Founder – FinSurgent An industry veteran with 20 years of experience, Mr. Qasif presents critical view on micro-finance and the growth potential offered by digitisation. He believe that the analog nature of all three touch points of micro finance business case has deprived it of its true potential which can be drastically altered through digitisation. He’s currently modifying the business case for micro-finance in two countries – Pakistan and Tanzania. In Pakistan, he leads the core team under FinJA working in partnership with FINCA Microfinance Bank in building the FINCA mobile wallet. In Tanzania, he is the lead consultant for the digital strategy for Access Bank.
Monis Rahman – Founder, Chairman & CEO – Naseeb Networks Inc. An internet entrepreneur, venture capitalist and businessman, Mr. Rahman is the founder and executive chairman of Naseeb Networks, Inc. a business-oriented social network used primarily for online job recruiting. Mr. Rahman has been listed among the top entrepreneurs of 21st century several times. Forbes named him at #6 on its list of top “Ten Big Hitting Asian Businessmen under 50” with me.
Naeem Zamindar – Country Director & CEO – Acumen Pakistan Results-driven, CEO with experience in venture capital, finance, operations, general management, in public and private companies. Previously, he has served as the CEO of Wateen & Mobilink, he has received MBA at INSEAD where his team won the European Business Plan Competition and started his venture funded social networking startup (Facebook before its time). His company became a casualty of the dotcom bust in the year 2000 after which he moved to the Silicon Valley to become a venture capitalist with Intel Capital, to invest and build successful expotential growth innovative companies. He is actively involved in the development of entrepreneurship as the current President of The Indus Entrepreneurs Lahore chapter and sits on the Advisory Board’s of The Center for Entrepreneurial Development, the business incubators Plan9 and Nest I/O, the leadership development organization AIESEC, and the Punjab Vocational Training Council.
