National Bank of Pakistan

Intro

National Bank of Pakistan is a state owned commercial bank which operates in Pakistan. Its headquarter is in Karachi and acts as a trustee of funds of public and an agent to the sole, State Bank of Pakistan.
NBP provides both commercial and public services for banking and is a key player in heads such as corporate investment banking, debt equity market, agricultural financing, treasury services and retail and consumer banking. With over 1,280 branches spread across Pakistan, the bank also has overseas offices in Chicago, London, Beijing and Toronto.
In order to increase and cater business requirements of many, the bank has developed many consumer products including some which solely target low and middle class of the country’s population. Schemes like public transport, unemployed, agriculture, loan to students have been facilitated at different times to cater the needs of people. Not just this, the bank initiated Islamic banking concept by offering different products and services for this. Also, the remittance feature is an add-on for overseas Pakistani demanding to send money in home country.
As of 2015, the bank had a total revenue of Rs. 53.72 billion whereas the net income in the same year reached up to Rs. 19.22 billion, a notable figure.
