Intro

Being the largest bank of the country, UBL has over 1,320 branches to its name. And not just Pakistan, the country has a wide branches network in USA, Qatar, Bahrain and Yemen. It was founded in 1959 by Agha Hasan Abedi. With its nationalization in 1971, the bank got into the hands of the government preceding it to get sold in 2002 to Abu Dhabi Group. In the same year, the bank had its operations merge with National Bank of Pakistan in UK to become the United National Bank Limited. As of today, United Bank owns 55% of the shares in the bank.
The bank is chaired by His Highness Shaikh Nahayan Mubarak Al Nahayan. In Pakistan, the headquarters are in Karachi. As of 2015, the bank had a revenue of Rs. 77.83 billion. Out from it, the bank earned a net income of Rs. 25.73 billion, the same year. The bank had a total assets base of Rs. 1.44 trillion with 15000+ employees.
The bank primarily offers commercial banking, corporate banking, private banking and asset management to its clients. In the Pakistani Banking Awards, UBL got the honor of being awarded for the Best Bank of Pakistan. This has been a great achievement for the bank owing to its riches such as employees, resources, clients, financials etc.
